Brought my car in on Monday for a new clutch. Got a repair estimate of "$1200, around $1400 if we have to replace the flywheel," and was told the car would be ready on Tuesday. Shop calls on Wednesday morning to inform me that they ordered the wrong part. They offer to have the correct part sent overnight for $100 AT MY EXPENSE to get the car repaired by Thursday. Otherwise, they'll have it by Monday. I'm renting a car this whole time, so yes, rushing the part is the better option, but charging me for this mistake takes some chutzpah. Picked up the car on Thursday. Invoice is for $1,576 plus tax. I don't like to dicker over prices. I expect to be treated fairly in the first place. I'll look for another shop next time.
